Oct 25,2009 early morning 6am, when everyone is still in bed enjoying their beauty sleep….a group of cyclist is getting ready for their journey around beautiful penang…to know more about the event, refer to the official sponsored website:- (click the photo)
As the official photographer, me and others team-mates (Jimmy, Ken, YaTeng, Jess Heng, Khai Ming & Jason) were there to capture this meaningful event. People were gathering there long before us, chatting, comparing their rides and cool tight outfits, and posing for photographs. After some candid shots, opening ceremony and briefing started with performances from the deaf drum group and lions dance. The journey is officially started at around 7.15am for the full length group. this group mainly is for pro-cyclist as it is kinda extreme, 80km to be exact. They travelled from townhall all the way to ferringhi, bayan lepas and back to the starting point.

Following by semi prof-cyclist with 50km.

As for the family group, also the most fun group, started at around 8.45am. Stealing the spotlight is of course is our CM, Dato lim Guan Eng in his mountain bike and cool gear. We also saw many different types of bicycle….cool pro bikes, mountain bikes, old skool kind with the bell and little basket in front, colourfull ones, old and rusty ones and many more. But a few of them stood out and attracted my attention….1st is the bike with a baby cart behind (notice a baby inside it), next is the bike with a toddler in a basket in front of the bike. Not only babies, we also saw a girl in a bike with a poodle, very cool indeed. Not forgetting is the team from Jitra, Kedah….with their weird cool bikes which i don’t even know what is it called…..with a big tyre in front of the small one behind. This group made a round trip to gurney with pit stops scattered along the way.
